Alderwood cares for 70 residents across Nursing Home and Residential Care. Our home is divided into six distinct home areas: five Nursing Home (11-12 residents each) and one Residential Care (11 residents). ABOUT THE ROLE:
Alderwood is seeking a dedicated, long-term leader who is committed to growing with our organization and making a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. This person will provide thoughtful guidance to the daily nursing operations of the home, as part of the Senior Leadership Team.
The Manager of Clinical Operations plays a key leadership role in supporting resident-centered care and the overall operations of the home. Working closely with the Director of Care, the MCO ensures day-to-day clinical excellence, operational oversight, and staffing support to ensure quality resident care.
Together, these roles provide guidance, support and oversight to care teams ensuring residents’ needs are met with compassion, professionalism, and accountability.
The Manager of Clinical Operations is responsible for the day-to-day operational leadership of nursing services, ensuring high-quality care delivery in alignment with established clinical standards and organizational policies.
This role is ideal for a leader who is motivated by resident-centered care, while maintaining a warm, home-like environment for residents and staff. You will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on daily care delivery and the overall success of the home.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides oversight of front-line service delivery and the daily coordination of care services and assumes responsibility for the direction of Resident care staff.
- Coordinates and provides accountabilities for all departmental activities to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of services of the department including matters related to staffing, schedules, and nursing care (Includes: physical hygiene, elimination, sleep, sensory abilities, mental status, psycho-social, restraints, vitals, allergies, diagnosis, vaccines, nursing alerts, care conferences, ambulation, mobility, foot care, skin care, oral care, nutrition risk factors, diet, nutrition, weight monitoring, pain management, special needs, nursing assessments, medication management, resident monitoring and assessments)
- Collaboration with the Director of Care on areas of risk, inefficiency, or resident and family care concerns.
- Account for the smooth, effective and efficient operation of the department, and more particularly, to create and support a work environment conducive to a positive staff morale and professional staff approach in all interactions with residents, families, and team members.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Current License with NSCN
- Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to co-ordinate, supervise and oversee a comprehensive nursing care program.
- Show a proven track record of leadership in a team setting.
- Clinical experience in a long-term care setting an asset.
- Minimum 5 years' nursing experience.
- Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience with use of technology as part of operations with a working knowledge of computers (ie. Microsoft Office applications, healthcare management software, scheduling programs).
- Adheres to the Manager of Clinical Operations roles and responsibilities in the Job Positioin Outline.
- Skilled in problem solving, flexible, strong organizational skills, and adherence to timelines.
- History of satisfactory attendance and capable to meet the demands of the job.
